What is this blog about?
This blog is about the possible smart usages of generative AI with the focus on realyable and trustable solutions. I will share my experiences and learnings with generative AI.
What is it about for me?
Hi I am Christian, a seasoned software developer from Austria.
As a software developer with a passion for creating appropriate solutions, I currently have a strong interest in AI and general software development challenges.
Since around May, 2023 I have made it a personal goal to learn more about Generative AI and its strenth and weaknesses. There was a lot of experimenting with different tools and frameworks around that time, and I stumbled upon some interesting findings around the whole domain. Soon I realized that there was way more to it than just the LLM-Model itself, and that the real challenge is to build systems a human can trust in.
I have been working with computers since I was a child and I have always been fascinated by technology, human communication and finding solutions to problems.
My MSc in computer science I made at JKU in Linz, Austria. I have a passion for software development and I love to learn new things.

Smart Ways to Use Generative AI
Real-World Applications
To find real world applications of generative AI is one of my main goals. I do not see any point in just using AI for AI sake.
- New ways of interaction: Smart new ways on how to interact with information.
- Customer Support: AI-based chatbots for resolving customer queries or handling first-level support requests.
- Custom solutions: Tailored solutions for specific problems identifying where AI can help or where it can compliment existing strategies.
- Healthcare: How AI can assist in researching information that doctors need on a daily basis.
Enhancing Productivity
AI tools that help automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and free up time for creative work.
- Text Summarization & Translation: AI for making large documents digestible or translating content across languages in real time.
- Data Analysis: How AI can support in creating tools for data crunching and generating reports to offer insights.
Combining Human Expertise with AI
AI is well suited to support humans in their work and to enhance their creativity. Be it in the field of design, research or development.
Balancing assistance with human oversight while AI can also be asked to add different perspectives.
Respecting Green AI by using AI-Resources thoughtfully
Using generative AI only where it makes sense is a huge lever in my opinion. When e.g. GPT4o is used to just translate a word between languages it does not make sense to use the huge amounts of resources that current AI systems need.
One of my main focuses is to use AI helping me find out how to create solutions that only use AI-Resources where it really has a big benefit.
Besides that it can also be supported by:
- Using cloud services powered by renewable energy
- Optimizing AI systems for efficiency without sacrificing performance.
